ELGIP meeting Stockholm

Last week, ELGIP held its Annual Assembly in Stockholm, marked by productive discussions and key developments.

The assembly featured important working group sessions on Energy Geostructures (led by Marco Barla) and Climate Change Adaptation (led by Alessandra Insana), ELGIP’s commitment to addressing critical challenges.
A key event was the Nature-Based Solutions workshop, led by Tone Ratcliffe Smaavik where interesting ideas were shared and debated.

During the Board Meeting, President Iulia-Consuela Prodan officially passed the leadership to Hauke Zachert who will now lead ELGIP for the next two years. Hauke will be supported by Vice President Grzegorz Ryżyński and General Secretary @Peter van den Berg forming a dynamic team to continue advancing the ELGIP agenda.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Statens geotekniska institut, SGI – Swedish Geotechnical Institute for their warm hospitality and outstanding organization of this event and especially to Yvonne Rogbeck all her dedication to ELGIP and also for the organization of the 2025 of ELGIP General Assembly.

Meeting in Cluj-Napoca

The latest ELGIP meeting took place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on September 19 and 20, 2023. The first day there was a workshop on Energy Geostructures and the second day the ELGIP board meeting took place. Cooperation and exchanging are very important for the European geotechnical community.

Gain access to the GEOLAB geotechnical research facilities

On June 9th, GEOLAB will launch its first call for proposals to academic and industry users for ground-breaking research and innovation to address challenges faced by the Critical Infrastructure sector. The so-called Transnational Access is funded from the project budget and includes technical & scientific support and training of the users. 1st International Conference on Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering – Geodiversity & Resilience LNEC Lisboa. Portugal 27-30 June 2021

New member Cluj-Napoca

During our Elgip meeting in Paris, 2-3 April 2019, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca became a member of Elgip. The network now represent 15 countries, including Romania.
